Mythical Heroes

Mythical stories of heroes from ancient times weren’t literal but rather fictional stories about truths about life. The hero’s journey is often a solitary one at times but that’s because only you know your self and the path you desire to take. No one else can show you the way, otherwise it’s not your path but someone else’s. That said, heroes before you have left waymarkers which can help you figure out your path.

The Hero Path

We have not even to risk the adventure alone
for the heroes of all time have gone before us.
The labyrinth is thoroughly known …
we have only to follow the thread of the hero path.
And where we had thought to find an abomination
we shall find a God.

And where we had thought to slay another
we shall slay ourselves.
Where we had thought to travel outwards
we shall come to the center of our own existence.
And where we had thought to be alone
we shall be with all the world.

Joseph Campbell

(“The labyrinth is thoroughly known.” Wild. Like he’s taking about vertical development.)

(Be Real Creative hero’s quote I wrote years back. Intuitively realizing the challenge ahead for us all.)
